TOMRI SAHIB Our History

OUR HISTORY

Sadguru Baba Saidas Ji worshipped Lord Vishnu in many previous births. In his last birth, he was named as Narottam Das. Due to his extreme interest in worship of Lord Vishnu, he unintentially ignored his father and left home for his spiritual journey. His father jumped in Ganga with last wish of getting Narottam as son in next birth. Meanwhile, Narottam Das enlighted by Lord Vishnu. He asked Mukti (Moksha) as vardaan from Lord Vishnu. He was explained the last wish of his father and told to take care of him in his next birth as Saidas. Hearing this, Narottam requested Lord Vishnu to come as his son in next birth.

Narottam Das ji took his next birth in the house of Shree Mallrai ji. His Birth name was Shree Hem raj ji and later he was known as Shree Sidh Baba Sai das ji. He was a miracle boy since birth. He remembered last birth and accordingly started worshipping lord Vishnu while ensuring care and love for his parents. Mahatama Shree Mukund Das ji was a saint of very high divine status. He accepted Saidas ji as his param shishya and taught him worship mechanisms.

Later, Shree Saidas ji got married to Sushila. Mata Sushila gave birth to five sons – Amardas, Narharidas, Vishnu Das, Sukhanand Das and Ramanand.

Before the Avtaar of Ramanand ji, Lord Vishnu came in the dream of Sadguru Baba Shree Saidas ji. He reiterated his blessing and reminded him of last birth where he pledged to take avatar in his house as Ramanand.

Avtaar Ramanand ji came to the earth and did many leela’s. He also rediscovered Brahmasar Sarovar which is also mentioned in the “Naarad Panchratra”. People used to witness many miracles in the presence of Avtaar Ramanand ji. On attaining 12 years, Shree Ramanand ji went to the Sarovar and immersed himself, leaving a (BERI) stick in the ground. Mata Sushila ji was inconsolable to the news of Shree Ramanad ji. One day Shree Ramamand ji came to her dream and told her to come to the sarovar and meet him with a condition of not disclosing this to anyone else. Next day she went to sarovar and met Shree Ramanand ji, this continued for few days. Somehow, she revealed this to villagers and then Shree Ramanand ji immersed forever.

Sadguru Baba Saidasji ordered his successor to take the responsibility of Mahant and help people with their divine powers. Guru Gaddi ritual started from there and continued till date. Last mahant in the original mandir (Gujrawalan, Pakistan) was Shree Ram Narayan ji. Later the base was shifted to Ghaziabad where Mahant Ram Narayan ji continued the traditions. After him, his elder son Mahant Rameshwar Dass took the charge and after him Mahant Kishore Chand Goswami ji and he further honoured Mahant Shree Bharat Bhushan Goswami ji with the responsibility. Mahant Shree Bharat Bhushan Goswami ji is 17th Mahant of this Gaddi.
